RDLA U17A Repeat as Provincial Champions

The Red Deer Lacrosse Association is proud to celebrate the U17A team on an exceptional season, capped off with a provincial championship at the 2026 Minor Box Lacrosse Provincials in Medicine Hat, Alta., held July 10 to 12.

Entering provincials as defending champions, the U17A team carried both experience and determination into the tournament. Through hard work, focus and a commitment to one another, they continued to set the standard for excellence.

In the provincial final, RDLA faced the Hoks and delivered a commanding performance, winning the series in two straight games to secure back-to-back provincial championships.

“This group of players has shown what can be achieved through dedication, discipline and a true commitment to one another,” said head coach Darren Kinnear. “Going undefeated this season didn’t happen by chance. It was built through hard work at every practice and every game. They play for each other, they trust each other and that’s what makes this team so special.”

For many of these athletes, this marks their third consecutive provincial championship — a remarkable accomplishment that speaks to both their talent and their consistency over time.

This team’s success is rooted not only in their skill, but in their work ethic, leadership and the strong bond they share as teammates.
