U17A Red Deer Chiefs Finish Undefeated, Claim GELC Championship Title

The U17A Red Deer Chiefs have capped off a remarkable season in dominant fashion by finishing undefeated and capturing the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC) Championship.

Facing off against the Sherwood Park Titans in a best-of-three final series, the Chiefs secured the title by winning two straight games, including a thrilling Game 2 victory at home in Red Deer in front of an electric hometown crowd.

With a perfect 12-0-1 regular season record and an impressive +61 goal differential, the Chiefs carried their momentum into the playoffs, finishing 3-0-0 en route to the championship.

Next up, the team will travel to Calgary, AB, from July 11-13 to compete in Provincials, where they’ll battle in a best-of-three series against the top team from the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA).

This Chiefs squad has shown resilience, teamwork and elite skill all season long and now they’ll look to bring home one more banner to cap off an incredible year.
