Red Deer Chiefs Named to Team Alberta for 2025 Canada Summer Games

The Red Deer Lacrosse Association (RDLA) is thrilled to announce that three of its talented athletes have been selected to join Team Alberta for the 2025 Canada Summer Games, taking place August 8 - 25 in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Luc Catudal of Innisfail, AB, Kian Siemens of Red Deer, AB and Tyrell Strauss of Blackfalds, AB all play for the U17A Red Deer Chiefs. Luc and Kian, have been officially named to the Team Alberta roster and Tyrell has been selected as an alternate goalie (red shirt) and will train with the team in preparation for the Games.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for Luc, Kian and Tyrell, and we couldn’t be prouder,” said Amy Cozens, President of the Red Deer Lacrosse Association. “To see our athletes recognized on a provincial and national level is a reflection of the dedication these players bring to the game, and the strength of our entire RDLA community.”

The Canada Games represent the highest level of amateur sport in the country, and being chosen to compete or train as part of Team Alberta is a significant milestone in any athlete’s journey. These selections are not only personal achievements but also a proud moment for the Red Deer Chiefs program and the central Alberta lacrosse community.

“Watching our players reach this level is incredibly rewarding”, said Darren Kinnear, Head Coach of the U17A Red Deer Chiefs. “They've committed themselves to the sport, pushed through challenges and earned this moment. We’ll be cheering them on every step of the way.”

The RDLA looks forward to following Luc, Kian and Tyrell as they continue to train and prepare for this national stage. We’ll be cheering loudly from home as they represent Alberta with pride, passion and sportsmanship.
