Box Lacrosse
All Players whether new to lacrosse or returning for another year of fun are welcome to register for the Red Deer Lacrosse Association Lacrosse programs. Our lacrosse program is designed to allow new players the opportunity to start out in a fundamentally based program, while also allowing returning players the ability to improve their skills. Box lacrosse requires full equipment.
This season teams will be created based on the information given during our registration process. Players will be assigned with the intention of creating teams evenly as possible, this processes will start in early March with the older divisions continuing to our younger divisions. Teams will not be finalized until parity has been achieved. Our season continues to mid to late June depending on the playoff schedule. All teams will be allocated a minimum of 1 practice a week at various facilities through out the City. Please be prepared to practice Monday-Thursday, we will do our best to ensure scheduling is a consistent day and time, but appreciate your understanding.
RDLA teams participate in the Central Alberta Lacrosse League. League play will commence Mid-April and continue until Mid-June with games being played on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. U7 and U9 groups typically play on weekends. RDLA hosts the Tradition Lives Lacrosse Tournament on the May long weekend, this is one of the longest running tournaments in Canadian Lacrosse history. All attending teams U9-U17 will be expected to fill volunteer roles that weekend, up to 4 hours per player.
"A" Teams - This season RDLA will be having tryouts for U17, U15 and U13 divisions, tryout fee $50. All players from Central Alberta Lacrosse are welcome. "A" team tryouts will start beginning of February. Please visit "A" Team page for more information.

Code of Conduct (New Requirement this Season) - As part of the registration process, a comprehensive code of conduct for players and parents has been implemented to ensure a respectful and positive season within the lacrosse community. This must be followed throughout the season to remain eligible to participate. Please review the RDLA Code of Conduct

Volunteer Requirement - As a mandatory part of registration, families are required to contribute 10 hours of volunteer service throughout the season, with an additional 4 hours during the Tradition Lives Tournament. To ensure commitment, a $100 deposit per playrer is required - payable to the team, which is fully reimbursed upon successful completion of the volunteer hours. This initiative not only fosters community involvement but also supports the smooth running of events, enriching the experience for all involved in the sport. Volunteering at the Tradition Lives Tournament is required regardless of attendance, arrangements to cover shifts must be made directly by the family and failing to due so may result in an additional charge being added to your registration account.

A player is NOT deemed "registered" until the entire registration fee is paid in full. A player will NOT be allowed to participate until 100% of the fees are paid. These fees must be paid prior to the evaluation process, unless special arrangements have been made.
Special Request Process - Special requests will only be accepted until March 1st and are subject to a $100.00 fee.

Field Lacrosse - Under Construction
Our summer lacrosse program is offered to boys and girls of all ages and is designed to introduce children to the game of lacrosse regardless of experience, as well as assist those more advanced players in refining their skills in a positive, energetic and fun environment.
Registration opens in early Spring with a season that runs in July and August. Registration fees includes all regular season games and 1 practice per week. Additional practices are conditional upon field availability and your particular coach. Regular season consists of 3-4 Schedule Game Play Weekend Dates and a Provincial event, all of which are optional.
Competing Teams to play can include Lacombe, Calgary, Edmonton and Airdrie. Select weekends may also include teams from Cranbrook, BC.
Field lacrosse for boys requires full equipment the same as box lacrosse, with the exception of cleats instead of running shoes.
Field lacrosse for girls is Non-Contact throughout all divisions and requires only eye goggles as recommended, cleats instead of running shoes, and a ladies field lacrosse stick, which does differ substantially from box lacrosse sticks.
